Parent Organisation

Nafasi Welfare Centre is part of the dutch charity Children’s Welfare Mission. (Stichting Kinderhulp Afrika).This charity is a christian relief organisation that has been caring for the most vulnerable children in Uganda since 1987. We offer these children education, shelter, spiritual and medical care. We want to see them grow into healthy responsible and well balanced individuals who can provide for their own needs, in every aspect of their lives.

History

Childrens Welfare Mission was in 1987 by founded by Mathijs Piet, following a visit  by the African Children’s Choir that sought protection in the Netherlands as they were unable to return home due to the ongoing and worstening civil war in Uganda.

Stichting Kinderhulp Afrika is registerd at the Chamber of Commerce in Amsterdam under number 41224830.

The foundation is acknowledged by the Public Benefit Organisation ANBI.
